What can I do to reduce the symptoms of PMS?

Liz L asked: Is there anything I can do to lessen the symptoms of PMS? About a week before I start my period my whole personality completely changes. I get really jumpy and freak out over the smallest noises. I get depressed and I don’t want to do anything like go to work, eat, go to the gym. People really start to bug me and I can’t concentrate on anything for a long period of time. Is there anything I can do or am I just stuck with this?

When I have PMS I have a Britney Spears style breakdown. Can anything help aside from anti depressants?

guess asked: I dont want to take anti depressants. I took Paxil for a year and it wrecked my life when I came off it. But this PMS is unbearable. I do take a womans multivitamin, and fish oil.

What can I do to stop cravings and weight gain during PMS?

lauriehare asked: Every month, it’s the same thing. I feel like I can’t stop eating. I can tell a big difference in my appetite during PMS and I always feel bloated during that time. I **** feeling hungry all the time but I don’t want to give in and gain weight either. I try to start a diet but always want to throw it out the window when PMS rolls around.

What is the best over the counter pain reliever for PMS?

StrangeGirl111222 asked: Question to girls only please!! I get severe pms symptoms involving pain & mood. Midol and Pamprin never seem to work for me. The only thing that has ever relieved my symptoms is aspirin. Is there any other medications that may help me more such as I-B profin? Can your PMS get worse when you are around other women who have PMS?

Betty asked: I have heard that PMS can be more severe when you are around other women who have PMS. Something about the pheremones maybe. For the past few months my PMS is getting worse and I am around my friend who says she has always had severe PMS. Is severe PMS contagious? Does anyone know anything about this?
