When I have PMS I have a Britney Spears style breakdown. Can anything help aside from anti depressants?

guess asked:
I dont want to take anti depressants. I took Paxil for a year and it wrecked my life when I came off it. But this PMS is unbearable.
I do take a womans multivitamin, and fish oil.

go to therapy. the therapist can help u out to express your emotoions in a healthy way
It may be PMDD – call your doc and make an appointment
There’s that new birth control pill that’s supposed to help serious PMS symptoms. Is it Yaz? The one that has the “we’re not gonna take it” commercial. That’d be something to talk about with your doctor. Good luck
Try exercise. It helps more than you would believe. Walk 30-60 minutes every day. It will really help your PMS. And no drugs required.
omega three fatty acids in fish oil or flax seed *that’s great keep taking it*, work out, surround yourself with drama free people and positive energy! ooh and work out work out
at least 30 mins to an hour a day — build lean muscle. don’t watch the news at night all the vitamin b’s are good for women too! NO FAST FOOD! Positive thinking! But some days are good and some not.
I think you need to start something like Yoga, tai-chi, some kind of spiritual training. It’s a hormone imbalance. At the end of the day, everything is a state of mind, so learn to control your mind.
I used to get complete rage and mood swings with my period and my doctor did a hormone panel and my estrogen was low while I was in the mid cycle and right before my period I would get a surge of estrogen which caused my rampant PMS symptoms. She gave me little hormone capsules to take 2 weeks before I was scheduled to start my period and they helped tremendously. They are called Prometrium. Hope this helps!! I understand the feeling of unbearable PMS!!!
